The kids have been busy.
For Luke it’s been bliss, he
Has had a great year in school.

Violin, piano, baseball,
Karate - he does it all!
Sabrina thinks big bro’ is cool.

She is a mess,
Watch out for that dress!
She’s liable to roll in the dirt.

She puts on high-drama
In leotard or pajama,
And she can be quite a flirt!

Our schedules were packed
And then Bevelyn’s back
Gave problems we couldn’t explain.

I was scheduled to sing
When word came last spring…
Cancer was causing the pain.

Things got real crazy
And Bevelyn, un-phased, she
Said “Here we go again”

We’ve done this before
We’ll do it once more
Whatever it takes, we will win.

In the words of my wife,
(Their ‘mama’) – our life’s
Motto is “there’s always hope”

It bears repeating, too
When life is beating you
Beat it back, hold on to that hope.
